The conference title was on the line as Saint Ansgar made the trip to Mason City to face Newman Catholic on July 1. While the big fireworks displays are set for July 4, the Saints provided a show of their own in the first two innings to take a 7-0 lead as they rolled to a 10-4 win and leave no doubt who the top team in the Top of Iowa-East is this season.

The Osage softball team has the look of a group that could present problems for the rest of the state. The Green Devils have moved up to Class 3A this season but thanks to a powerful young bat and the return of dominant pitcher in the circle, Osage is ready for a run in the state tournament.

Riceville jumped out to an early lead, saw North Butler put up six runs to move in front, but the Wildcats took advantage of the last at bat as they walked off the Bearcats 8-7 at home on June 25.

The Wildcats scored a run in the first, two in the second and one in the third to build a 4-0 lead. North Butler scored six times in the fifth to grab their first lead of the game, but Riceville immediately answered with three runs in the bottom of the inning to move back in front 7-6.

Tyler Morton’s final home game at Osage is one he won’t soon forget. The senior hit a grand slam and drove in six runs against Nasua-Plainfield to lead the Green Devils to an 11-1 win on June 25.

Ty Voigt singled to start the game for Osage, Colton Jensen and Madden Howe were hit by pitches and Morton blasted a homer to left center to give the Green Devils an early 4-0 lead. It was Morton’s team leading fifth homer of the season.

Porter Schwiesow went 3-for-4 with a double and 4 RBIs and Jaxson Vroom had 4 RBIs as well as he went 2-for-4 to lead a potent offensive attack for Saint Ansgar as they had 14 hits in a 18-2 win at Nashua-Plainfield on June 24.

Connor Mullenbach and Joe Clevenger both had two hits and an RBI with Mason Beland and Landen Juenger each driving in a pair of runs for the Saints who improved to 12-0 in the TIC-East. 

Keely Anderegg dominated 11^th ranked North Butler as the senior struck out seven while allowing only four hits and one run as the Green Devils rolled to an 8-1 win in Allison.

Aby Evens and Erica Gast each had 2 RBIs for Osage who scored two in the third to take the lead, added two more in the fourth and four in the top of the seventh to earn their 17^th win of the season. 

Saint Ansgar dominated on the mound as they swept a doubleheader from Central Springs, winning 12-2 and 11-1 at home on June 15.

Owen Smith had seven strikeouts in just over six innings of work to lead Riceville to a 5-1 win over North Tama at home on June 16.

A big third inning for Osage proved to be the difference in a TIC-East battle at Central Springs on June 17.

Olivia Chapman earned a spot in the Osage record book as she hit her 10^th home run of the season, passing her sister Aubrey for most homers in a season as the Green Devils beat Saint Ansgar 10-3 at home on June 19.

Chapman’s blast to left center came in the bottom of the fifth inning to put Osage in front 6-3.

This game was far different than the first meeting of the season when the Green Devils won 21-0 on May 29.
